DIY Christmas Holiday Ideas!

December 3, 2016

The holiday season is fast approaching and we're here to offer you some fun do it yourself (DIY) holiday projects to get you and your home ready for the winter season.

1. Make a holiday wreath

Use a bare wire wreath (available from craft stores) and grab a bunch of fake foliage to cover the wire up. Bright coloured leaves and berries along with fake snow covered twigs make for a beautiful wreath decoration that can be hung over a fireplace or on a front door.

2. Make a table centrepiece

Grab a cheap tall vase and fill it with peppermint sweets and christmas coloured Cadbury chocolates or Hersey kisses. Tie a bright red ribbon around the base to really make the table centrepiece pop!

3. Design some ornaments with the kids

From a local craft store pick up some clear glass ornaments and grab some glitter, glue, and other red and green craft supplies. Lay down some old newspaper and get to work with your kids, it's a fun way to get creative this holiday season. Plus kids love seeing their hard work up on the christmas tree!

4. Spruce up your handrails

Grab some fake garland that is intertwined with holly and berries and wrap it around the handrail/banister along your staircase. You can even add white christmas tree lights to add extra flare. It's beautiful at night time and it extends the holiday spirit throughout the whole house.

5. Refurbish old wine bottles

Take an old wine bottle (or purchase an empty one from a craft store) and remove the label so it's a plain/clear bottle. You can use a mixture of glue and glitter to paint the entire outside of the bottle. Then fill the inside with either white lights or twigs or a mixture of both!
